GENERAL INFORMATION

NOTE: PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY

BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR A TOUR!!!

1. RESERVATIONS & PAYMENTS

  • a. Day Tours - Bookings should be made WELL IN ADVANCE and FULL PAYMENT is required at time of booking.
  • b. Overnight Tours - A deposit of $50.00 is required at time of booking. FINAL PAYMENT IS DUE A MINIMUM OF 30 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. Room reservations, single or double only, must be made at time of booking.
  • c. Debit Card, Visa, & Master Card are accepted.
  • d. GST is included in all prices.
  • e. Watch the bulletin board and displays at the Tour Desk for Tour information and updates.


2. DEPARTURE & ARRIVAL

  • a. All Tours will depart from and arrive at Garden Park Tower.
  • b. Arrival times back to the Tower are only approximate.
  • c. Your ticket will list the date and time of departure.
  • d. Your seat number will be marked on your ticket.
  • e. Car parking: All cars should be parked downstairs along the East wall.

3. CANCELLATIONS

  • a. When the Tour Committee cancels a tour, passengers will be notified and a full refund will be issued.
  • b. If YOU must cancel for any reason, please call the tour desk (604-853-5532) immediately.
    1. 1 Refunds may be issued if the vacancy can be filled.
    2. 2 Refund for emergencies will be considered by the Tour Committee

4. TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION (U.S. TOURS)

  • a. All passengers must carry proof of Canadian citizenship  a passport or birth certificate and photo I.D.
  • b. Non-Canadians must carry a visa or passport. Landed immigrants are required to have the new government ID to get back into Canada and pay an entry fee in exact U.S. bills.
  • c. Please carry adequate medical insurance and some U.S. currency. You will be asked to sign a waiver re: medical insurance when you sign up for a U.S. tour.
  • d. Do not try to take fruits, vegetables, or luncheon meats into the U.S.
5. ADDITIONAL FEES
  • a. Unless otherwise stated, all meals are the passengers' responsibility. However, tour guides will assist passengers in finding eating places.
  • b. Passengers under the age of 65 will be charged the Adult Rate on "ferry" tours because of additional ferry costs.


6. TRAVELING COURTESIES

  • a. It is standard practice to tip tour guides and bus drivers on bus tours, just as it is to tip waiters and waitresses in restaurants.
  • b. On overnight tours, seating is rotated clockwise daily.
  • c. People traveling single should be prepared to sit with another single to allow couples to sit together.
  • d. Be prepared to alternate window seats.
  • e. Physically-challenged passengers should travel with an assistant.
  • f. Courteous responses to unexpected or unavoidable changes help to make the tour a more pleasant experience for all.
  • g. Garden Park Tours seek to maintain a Christian atmosphere.

Tour # 1     Chemainus "The Perfect Wife"

Mar. 22 Take the Horseshoe Bay ferry to Duke Point. Drive to Chemainus and see the many outdoor murals that have made this town famous. Enjoy a buffet dinner and a performance of The Perfect Wife. In this play, love makes a mad dash around the world as four generations of women follow their hearts from Russia to France, England, and rural Saskatchewan. It's a hilarious comedy that will catapult you through the centuries.

Tour # 2     Vancouver Aquarium & Imax

Apr. 17 Travel to the Aquarium, where you can view more than 20,000 different animals, including Beluga whales, dolphins, fish, & giant snakes. Then enjoy a hearty lunch and an exciting Imax presentation at Canada Place.

Tour # 3     Van Dusen Gardens & Burnaby Village

May 22 Take a walk along paved pathways as you enjoy the beautiful Van Dusen botanical gardens. This 55-acre site has various theme gardens and many flowers to delight your senses. Volunteer guides give walking tours year round. Electric carts are available. Then, after a delicious lunch, step back in time as you walk through the many historic buildings at Burnaby Village. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.

Tour # 5     Imax & Grouse Mountain

June 5 Travel to Canada Place in Vancouver for an experience that will take your breath away. Imax provides you with a larger-than-life escape, putting you into the heart of the action. Then take a gondola up Grouse Mountain for a delicious full-course dinner and a bird's-eye view of Greater Vancouver.

Tour # 6     2-Day "The Papoose" Cruise--Sunshine Coast

June 20-21 Drive to Horseshoe Bay to board the Langdale Ferry to the Sechelt Peninsula. Then proceed up the scenic Sunshine Coast to Egmont where you will board The Papoose for a 3-hour cruise up one of the Inlets. Following this, you will enjoy a delicious dinner in Sechelt where you will also spend the night. On Day 2, a step-on guide will take you to sights along the way to Gibsons, where you will have lunch before returning home. (Please note: The Malibu Princess is no longer offering tours.)

Tour # 7     2-Day Leavenworth "The Sound of Music"

Aug. 16-17 Enjoy a live performance of The Sound of Music out on a ski hill. The cast gives an excellent performance of this well-loved story. Stop at the Cashmere Aplets & Cotlets candy factory, and take the Cascade Loop on the way home. En route are stops at a fruit stand, at Winthrop for lunch, and at other scenic spots along the way. Dinner is included at Bellis Fair Country Buffet.

Tour # 8     2-Day Kettle Valley & Okanagan Fruit Safari

Aug. 23-24 Take the # 3 Hwy and stop at a Fruit Stand in Osoyoos. Then tour the S.S. Sicamous Paddlewheeler in Penticton and take a ride on the Kettle Valley Railway in Summerland. Enjoy a dinner and spend the night in Kelowna. The next day, visit an Apple Orchard in Kelowna and the Honey Bee place and Fruit Stand in Vernon.

Aug. 30 Enjoy a leisurely stroll through Minter Gardens as you admire the many flowers in all their summer splendour. Then begin your Progressive Dinner with soup or salad at Minters', a hearty dinner at the Delia Restaurant, and pie at the Airport Café.

Tour # 10     Indian Arm Luncheon Cruise

Sept. 20 Sail the inland water of Indian Arm aboard the luxurious M.V. Harbour Princess. This 4-hour luncheon cruise departs Coal Harbour and cruises along scenic Burrard Inlet to spectacular Indian Arm. You will hear informative commentary throughout the cruise. After you dock, your motor coach will be waiting to return you to Abbotsford.

Steveston Cannery &  Reifel Bird   Sanctuary in Ladner

Oct. 4   Travel to Steveston and tour the Historic Gulf of Georgia Fish Cannery.  Watch a 20-minute film and see many showcases and a model of a 1930s production line.  Eat a hearty lunch in Steveston before traveling to Ladner to see the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary—890 acres on Westham Is. in the Fraser River, where over 230 species of birds have been seen, especially in Fall.  Walk the paths and see the birds from the viewing tower.

Chemainus “Miracle on 34th Street”

Nov. 28  Take the Horseshoe Bay ferry to Duke Point.  Drive to Chemainus and see the many outdoor murals that have made this town famous.  Enjoy a buffet dinner and the musical Miracle on 34th Street.  The story is about a department store Santa who claims that he’s the real Kris Kringle, but the world has become so impersonal and cynical that it puts him on trial—a show that you don’t want to miss!

Dec. 1  Drive to Puyallup, WA for a fun-filled day at the fairgrounds where every building houses food, entertainment, & hundreds of craft booths.  Do your Christmas shopping while you listen to artists performing at several locations.  Enjoy the Singing Nativity—a wonderful 1-hour choir production.  On the way home, enjoy a buffet dinner at Bellis Fair Country Buffet.
