MARCH 2007
Vol. 4 Issue 3

Highlights from the January Board Meeting:

Price Increase of Meals
Do you remember when our food prices were raised last? Well,
believe it or not the soup luncheon (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) was raised to $5.00 per person in November 1998!!!  As you all know, we have been absorbing a steady increase in our costs since.  Therefore, we regretfully now find ourselves in the position of having to raise the price of our soup luncheon from $5.00 to $6.00 per person.  This change will take effect on April 1, 2007.  The Friday Lunch will remain at $7.00 per person.

Purchase of a “New” Piano
The old piano is asking for it’s retirement.  The Board of Directors have moved to purchase a newer piano for use in the community centre.

What is happening with our Gift Shop?
The Gift Shop is moving!  The little space they are occupying at the moment will be rented out and the items e.g. cards, rebound books and framed pictures, etc, will be moved into the front part of the office.  We hope that the Gift Shop Volunteers will continue volunteering for the Society in different locations.  A meeting to discuss the move of the Gift Shop will be held with the Gift Shop Volunteers in the next little while.

Remember the old wooden chairs from the old building?
...well, we still have about 60 of them in our basement.  These chairs are in good condition, however, are not being used.  The Board of Directors has agreed to donate them to Prairie Chapel.
