THE MESSENGERCLEARBROOK COMMUNITY CENTRE AT
FEBRUARY 2007
Valentines Day is February 14. This day is set aside for exchanges of love with sweethearts, friends and family. To know what real love is,
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous
or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not
irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice
about injustices but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives
up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
A Tid Bit: The First Valentine. A Frenchman, Charles, Duke of Orleans, is credited with writing the first Valentine. He was captured by the English during the battle of Agincourt in 1415. On Valentine’s day he sent his wife a rhyming love letter from the tower of London, where he was imprisoned.
